The prophecy that stood out to me the most is in Isaiah

Isaiah 13:17, 19

Behold, I am stirring up the Medes against them,

who have no regard for silver

and do not delight in gold.

18 Their bows will slaughter[a] the young men;

they will have no mercy on the fruit of the womb;

their eyes will not pity children.

19 And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms,

the splendor and pomp of the Chaldeans,

will be like Sodom and Gomorrah

when God overthrew them.

this prophecy stands out mainly because it is one among many. It is a recurring theme in the minor and major prophets that the proud nations will be humbled that God may use evil nations to punish and destroy Israel but those nations will not escape judgment. I am reminded of our own nation and the pride we show in it. All of these nations must have thought they in their day they would be undefeated yet they all fell, I can’t help but question my own unshakable faith in America. As it says in Ezekiel 7:24

I will bring the worst of the nations to take possession of their houses. I will put an end to the pride of the strong, and their holy places shall be profaned.

It is only by God grace that our nation stand and by his mercy that it continues to stand. We should thank God for that blessing and be humble presenting him the praise instead of taking the credit.
